Nestled in the midst of the forest, Umpqua Hot Springs offers a stunning natural hot spring experience for hikers and nature lovers. With several pools of varying temperatures, visitors can bask in the therapeutic waters while surrounded by the beauty of nature. Nudity is common at this rustic site and guests may need to wait for a pool to open up, depending on the day and time of their visit. The parking lot near the bridge requires a $5 cash fee, with rangers monitoring the area. The hike to the hot springs is challenging, with steep, dirt trails and loose wooden railings in some sections. While the experience may not be glamorous, it certainly offers a chance to appreciate the unspoiled natural surroundings. For those seeking a more adventurous route, a longer 2+ mile hike is available, providing the opportunity to spot local wildlife. The hot springs are open from 7 AM to 7 PM daily, offering a soothing retreat for outdoor enthusiasts.

Beautiful natural hotspring in the middle of the forest. Several pools ranging in temperature, natural = expect sediment, nudity is common. Depending on day/time, may have to wait for a pool to open up. Parking at the lot near the bridge is $5 cash via payment envelope - they do have rangers checking. The drive beyond the gate to the parking lot is full of pits and potholes. Apparently there is a longer section of trail before the gate that you can take (2+ miles) but we did not see parking at that trailhead. Pit toilet at parking lot had toilet paper and was adequate. The trail is very steep in soft dirt; one section has wooden railing that is loose in a few areas. Shoes/boots highly recommended (no sandals), bring a towel, and pick up after yourself. I enjoy the natural beauty - If you're looking for glamorous, this is not it.

Beautiful natural hot springs. There are several small pools and the top one is the hottest one. Since it is natural, it had mud in every pool. We went down the hill to take a dip in the river to get clean from the dirt. This hike was a little difficult, and not advisable if you have bad knees. There is a parking lot near the hot springs and a small half-mile hike from there to the hot springs. There is a long 2.5 to 3-mile hike too if you want to take it, but there is no parking space available near that hiking start point, so plan accordingly. We took this one way and saw a deer herd while we hike. Not many people take this long hike, so take the necessary precautions.

Totally worth a visit! The pools are gorgeous. Arrive early to avoid crowds. It’s a natural hot springs and clothing optional. There is a lot of organic matter on floor of pools. Walk up is short but steep.

Relaxing, calm environment. As mentioned the top pool is the hottest, flows to the pools below at a cooler temperature. The pools are shallow, like a wading pool and the sulfur smell is at a minimal. great view of the sky, trees, and river below. Although it is family friendly I would not recommend bringing in pets or kids, they don't navigate wet cliffs with a lot of awareness. Hike in is steep but short and narrow at times, flip flops won't cut it. Pro tip for leaving is to walk down sideways.

This place was great! We went once in the evening on a weekday and once in the early (7am) morning on a weekday. In the evening there were maybe one or two people in each pool. Not very crowded and we easily moved between the pools. There were clearly more regulars there and more n@kedness. In the morning there were less people but more photo shoots going on. Don't get me wrong, I got some great pictures too and am all for a little photo shot in a beautiful place but we weren't able to hop into some of the pools without obviously disturbing people's pictures. People were also very obviously waiting for the most picturesque pools so you were getting side eyes if you stayed in those too long. Anyways just two different vibes from two different visits both very relaxing.

5-6 soaking pools made from rock. The top one is the hottest, going down they get cooler. The hike is a 10 minute, steep incline, to a graffiti hut and your there. Other people said it wasn't busy, but the parking lot was full and every pool had a person in it. Half of the people were naked, No judge. The view is amazing and worth the drive!

Absolutely gorgeous! Ended up here after deciding to take the unbeaten path when leaving Clearwater Falls near Dorena, OR, not realizing we were heading into the Umpqua National Forest with a half a tank of gas. We popped out right by the hot springs and man we were glad we stopped. A bit of a hike(who am I kidding, it almost killed me 😂) but well worth it! Well worth the hike with the Mrs.

Chances are you’ve already seen this on every “must see places in Oregon” list. And they’re not wrong. Around 6 pools to sit in, ranging in heat (the higher up the hotter). Short, but steep hike to the pools. It can get pretty crowded but we went early in the morning/around sunset to avoid most of the crowds. At the bottom, near the river, is another hot spring. There is a cave where you can see some bats fly around when it gets darker.
